Modules Voyage Update - June 24, 2009

Four Cianbro refinery expansion modules are now safely in Port Arthur, Texas, after a voyage from Brewer, Maine, which lasted 11 days. Project Manager Scott Clements says the tug Emma Foss arrived with her barge-load of modules on Tuesday morning.

The ocean going tug, Emma Foss, and her barge, the Columbia Boston, loaded with four Cianbro modules destined for the Motiva refinery expansion in Texas, are making outstanding progress on the current voyage. "They're sailing," says Project Manager Scott Clements, who adds that the vessels have been traveling at a rate between 9.2 and 10.4 knots since departing Searsport on June 12th. The crew members have traveled non-stop, so far, and are now beyond Vero Beach, Florida.

Cianbro Modules on a Fast Track to Texas

Voyage Number Two of the ocean going tug, Emma Foss, and her barge laden with four Cianbro modules is going "smooth as silk." That's according to Project Manager Scott Clements, who says the vessels have been averaging a speed of nine knots as they head toward the Motiva refinery expansion project in Port Arthur, Texas.

It was a historic day for Cianbro and the state of Maine. The first shipment of Motiva refinery modules departed from Cianbro’s Eastern Manufacturing Facility in Brewer a half hour ahead of schedule on Thursday, March 26th.

Under sunny skies and spring-like temperatures, the 354 foot ocean going barge carrying the first shipment of Cianbro refinery modules departed the Eastern Manufacturing Facility bulkhead a half hour ahead of schedule.
