For the first time in Cianbro's history, the company has earned a place on Engineering News-Record's list of the Top 100 U.S. Contractors, coming in at number 88 for 2012.

Cianbro has been selected by The ESOP Association as the winner of the national 2012 Category 2-B Annual Award for Communications Excellence (AACE), which is presented to an employee-owned company in the U.S. that employs more than 250 team members, and which has shown excellence in video communications. 

Five Cianbro and four Starcon team members traveled to San Antonio, Texas last week to compete at the ABC National Craft Championships. Not only was Cianbro well represented by team members who displayed professionalism and integrity, they also returned home with gold, silver, and bronze medals.

Barge Number Three, loaded with five E-Rooms destined for a new nickel mining plant in Newfoundland, has departed Cianbro's Eastern Manufacturing Facility in Brewer, Maine.

On Tuesday April 17th, the team at the Little Bay Bridge Project successfully floated in the center span of the new bridge. The technique used was a first for Cianbro. 

The Little Bay Bridge team has celebrated project milestones including 391 safe days and completion of the Phase I Substructure and Phase I Steel on schedule.

A trio of New England companies has purchased the former Backscatter radar installation in Moscow, Maine with the intent of developing energy generating facilities onsite and creating leasable business space. Conroy Development Corporation and Jay Cashman, Inc., both of Massachusetts, and Cianbro of Pittsfield, Maine have joined as partners in the venture.

It was a crucial milestone of the Niantic Railroad Bridge Replacement Project:  the float-in and bolt-up of the 400 ton bascule section for the new bridge which spans the Niantic River between Waterford and East Lyme, Connecticut.

Phase Two of the effort to renovate the historic and picturesque Mystic River Bascule Bridge between Groton and Stonington, Connecticut, is nearing completion.
