The 11th Annual Maine ABC Craft Championships were held in Augusta this November, and approximately a thousand teenaged students from across the state made the trek to the Augusta Civic Center to get in touch with the career opportunities available in the construction industry.

"It was a very successful event," said Chief Organizer Jon Sacks of Cianbro. "It was smooth in terms of execution, and got the job done with regard to putting young people in touch with the construction industry."

Sacks points out that the Annual showcase has become an event that teachers, students, and contractors look forward to every year. "The Craft Championships are a great opportunity for young people to see what is available to them," said Cianbro Institute Director Dann Hayden.

Alan Burton is Cianbro's Vice President of Human Resources, Safety and Health and is a staunch supporter of Career and Technical Education in the public school system. Burton delivered remarks at the Policymaker's Breakfast prior to the Craft Championships, focusing on the importance of industry participation in education.
