Scope of Work
Cianbro managed the 18-month construction and rehabilitation project of an existing hospital that remained 100 percent operational.

Project Details
  • Managed 12,000 sf of renovation work and 7,800 sf of new construction
  • Provided constructability reviews during the design phase of the project to manage cost and project objectives
  • Constructed two new intensive care units with adjacent recovery rooms, new nurses’ facilities, x-ray rooms, two operating rooms, patient rooms, laboratories, and common areas
  • Installed new medical gas and electrical infrastructure
At the project closeout, hospital administrator, Ann Morrison, commented that the hospital staff, Cianbro, and its subcontractors had easily worked elbow-to-elbow to make this project successful.

Unique Challenge

The Cianbro team successfully met daily challenges working with hospital staff and managing construction in an operational hospital environment. Patients were admitted, treated and examined in or near construction areas. Cianbro modified activities, moved partitions and even assisted hospital personnel—all while maintaining schedule and quality.
