Scope of Work 
Cianbro constructed a marina pier, a commercial pier, and a recreational pier at the National Harbor Complex. The marina pier was 660 lf with two large bump-outs 60 ft x 100 ft, with floating docks to accommodate the 75 ft boat slips for vessels up to 60 ft long. The commercial pier was 700 lf with one bump-out 60 ft x 60 ft with various floating docks to accommodate large commercial vessels and a winter taxi dock. The recreational pier was 425 lf with a large “T” Section 50 ft x 150 ft with various floating docks and two moorings to accommodate water taxis and watercraft.   

Project Details 

• Drove 286, 18 inch concrete piles
• Drove 81, 16 inch steel pipe piles for a 27,000 sf floating dock system
• Placed 2,176 cy of concrete topping  slabs
• Set and grouted 145 precast concrete bent caps
• Placed 215 precast 8 inch thick deck panels 
• Installed 17,400 sf of trench decking for the utility trench
• Constructed two pencil structures for the bump-outs on the marina pier and another pencil structure for the “T” section of the recreational pier
• Installed pipe pile for channel navigational markers designated by the US Coast Guard
• Designed and built the tensile structure for the marina pier
• Installed all electrical utilities in addition to sewer, water, phone, cable, and security systems
• Installed all amenities on the project included benches, binoculars, trash receptacles, etc.
