Kibby Wind Power Project – Transmission Line
Scope of Work
Cianbro constructed a 27.6 mile 115 kV transmission line from Kibby Township to Central Maine Power Company’s Bigelow Substation.
Project Details
Procured all materials
Cleared 495 acres
Provided 4,700 mattes for Environmental mitigation
Constructed 220 wood framed structures
Installed 445,000 lf of conductor
Installed 128,000 lf of fiber optic OPGW
Designed and installed 4/10th of a mile of underground 115 kV transmission line
Utilized helicopter services for framing and conductor installation
Unique Challenge
The Kibby Transmission Line project provided unique challenges including environmental sensitivity, mountainous terrain, and an aggressive schedule working in remote areas.
