Career Events

Our Goal: Eliminate at-risk behavior and achieve zero incidents.

It takes a safe AND healthy team to sustain a successful company. By putting the safety and health of our team members and their families first and ensuring that risks are eliminated, Cianbro can not only improve their quality of life but also improve our safety and work practices.

Cianbro accepts full responsibility for establishing and maintaining a safe work environment. Our team members have the right to go home each day without injury. Cianbro involves every team member in planning each activity, no matter how small.

With a can-do spirit toward safety, Cianbro has solved challenging safety problems and led the industry in developing procedures, techniques, and equipment to keep our people safe. The company has been recognized nationally  for this success. Today, Cianbro is using the knowledge it gained in safety to lead the way in wellness. Cianbro works with team members to eliminate at-risk health behavior. Through commitment and innovation, Cianbro is on its way to being the "Healthiest Company in America".

Cianbro Accident Prevention Process (CAPP)

Cianbro is the first construction company to implement a behavior-based safety process throughout its organization. Zero at-risk behavior and zero injuries require moving beyond traditional methods of safety management. CAPP creates an environment of safe team member behavior through peer observation, constructive feedback, and regular use of the data obtained to update equipment, practices, and procedures.

CAPP involves all workers in identifying both at-risk and safe behaviors. Rather than focusing exclusively on what team members are doing wrong or incidents that have already occurred, CAPP proactively focuses on work tasks and behaviors that could potentially raise the potential for causing work injuries.

Complimenting Cianbro's successful safety program, CAPP is a non-threatening, no names, continuous improvement process.  No one is reprimanded or punished as a result of a CAPP observation.
At Cianbro, everyone benefits:
  • Competitive wages 401k and profit sharing through the Cianbro Team Equity Plan
  • Paid vacation and holidays
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance with a generous company contribution for medical care
  • Career development, training and mentoring
  • Tuition reimbursement
  • Discounts for work boots & prescription safety glasses
  • And more!

Investing in Our Team Members

Cianbro's team members are our most valuable resource. Our people and their continued personal growth and career development are the foundation for excellence and success at Cianbro. We value motivated team members who are committed to continuous learning.

Cianbro invests in team members' success through career and personal development opportunities:

  • Education
    • 100% tuition reimbursement for outside job related education
    • Cianchette Brothers Scholarship Program
  • Training
    • New hire orientation
    • Project management orientation
    • Leadership Academy
    • Craft training
    • Apprenticeship training
  • Development
    • Mentor program
    • Succession planning
    • Career development coaching
    • Audio, video and reading lending library

This emphasis on continuous improvement is why our team members are the best construction professionals in the industry.

Our craft training program is designed around the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) curriculum, a non-profit foundation dedicated to research and excellence in the construction industry. It is a nationally recognized curriculum which focuses on developing and managing the highest quality craft and safety programs in the industry.

When the Cianchette brothers incorporated their company in 1949, they followed the lessons taught by their parents, "Treat people with honesty, fairness, dignity and respect." Those values are the foundation of our education philosophy at Cianbro today. Through innovation, efficiency and a can-do spirit, we develop our people, satisfy our clients and grow profitably.

Sharing in the Ownership of Cianbro

Cianbro team members own Cianbro through participation in the Profit Sharing Plan.

Over 20 years ago, Cianbro Founders--Carl, Bud, Ken, and Chuck Cianchette--made a decision to sell the company to the very people who helped them build it.  They believed that the people who worked beside them should be the future owners of the company.  To this day, Cianbro remains 100 percent employee-owned.

Working with the Cianbro team will bring a whole new perspective to your career.  Since each team member shares in the company's ownership, we work together for success in ways few other companies can match.  As we grow, you'll grow with us.

As owners, team members work safely and productively to ensure that each project is successful.  For Cianbro team members, ownership means:  working safely, understanding and reducing costs, finding the most efficient ways to perform work activities, searching for innovative approaches to construction, taking pride in a job well done, and sharing in the company's profits.
