Scope of Work

Cianbro performed all substation construction including managing all engineering, procurement and construction (civil and electrical work) necessary for the EPC contract for a new 115/34.5/12.47 kV substation, as part of Central Maine Power’s Maine Power Reliability Program (MPRP).

Project Details

  • Managed engineering, procurement and self-performed all construction of the one acre substation
  • Installed 64 concrete foundations
  • Completed all conduit installations and equipment grounding
  • Erected tubular dead end structures and miscellaneous structural steel
  • Constructed a 42 feet by 27 feet control house and installed all of the electrical outfitting, including AC/DC equipment, cable tray, lighting, control cabinets, wiring, and terminations
  • Installed all yard equipment, including 2 – 115 kV circuit breakers, 2 circuit switches, 8 disconnect switches, and a number of CCVT’s, LA’s, and insulators
  • Constructed a welded 115, 34.5, and 12.47 kV aluminum bus system
  • Constructed and installed all flex taps
  • Pulled and terminated power and control cables
  • Installed all fiber optic cables
