After more than 110 years of service, the Ticonic Bridge connecting Waterville and Winslow, Maine, is being replaced due to structural deterioration. The new bridge is designed to last a century, with 6-foot sidewalks, 5-foot shoulders, crash-resistant rails, architectural lighting, and corrosion-resistant materials.
