Carl Cianchette starts his construction operation, Carl E. Cianchette Contractor.

The Cianchette Brothers, Inc. lands subcontract for Loring Air Force Base in Limestone, Maine. The brothers add three bulldozers, a low-bed truck, a power shovel, and 13 Ford trucks.

The Chinbro Beam Clamp and Chinbro Pipe Grab are invented making setting steel and placing pipe more efficient.

Cianchette Brother, Inc. acquires E.C. Snodgrass, which adds heavy industrial and marine capabilities to the company's portfolio.

Cianchette Brothers, Inc. assembles a 400-foot crane at Bath Iron Works in Bath, Maine, capable of lifting 300-ton loads. At the time, the crane was considered largest in the Western Hemisphere.

Cianchette Brothers, Inc. becomes Cianbro Corporation.

Carl Cianchette merges his hot-mix asphalt and ready-mix concrete business with Cianbro Corporation.

Cianbro expands into the pulp and paper market with Lincoln Pulp & Paper.

The Cianchette brothers decide to transfer ownership of the company to the team members. A plan was put into place to allow team members to acquire ownership by using company profits allocated to them by way of the profit-sharing plan.

With its first major contract outside of the Northeast, at the Great Bridge, Virginia, Cianbro expands into the Mid-Atlantic region.

Cianbro expands into the southern New England region.

Cianbro completes its new corporate office in Pittsfield, Maine, turning a decrepit downtown business block into an ultra-modern headquarters.

Cianbro receives Congressional Record for the rehabilitation of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge in Washington, D.C. Because the project was completed seven-and-a-half months ahead of schedule, Cianbro received a $1.42 million bonus.

Cianbro develops the full-body construction harness and adopts 100 percent tie-off.

Cianbro expands fabrication and coating capabilities in Pittsfield, Maine.
Pete Vigue
1991
Pete Vigue becomes President of Cianbro Corporation. At the time, Pete had worked for Cianbro for 21 years, working his way up the company ladder.

Cianbro begins the Wellness Program to support team members and their families in their wellness efforts.
Employee Owned

Cianbro becomes 100 percent employee-owned. As employee-owners, team members contribute to the company's value and profitability while also sharing financially in the value created.

Cianbro constructs United States Air Force Memorial in Arlington, Virginia.

Peter "Andi" Vigue becomes President of Cianbro Corporation.

Cianbro acquires Starcon International, a full-service contractor offering comprehensive industrial and mechanical services in the refining, chemical, natural gas processing, and food and beverage industries.
Eastern Maine Manufacturing facility

Cianbro constructs and ships 51 modules for Crude Expansion Project for Motiva in Port Arthur, Texas.

Cianbro commits to Beyond Zero - creating an environment where our team goes home in better condition than they arrived at work.

Cianbro completes MPRP - Central Loop, a 230 mile transmission line project throughout central Maine.

Cianbro applies a company-wide focus on Lean principles, engaging teams to build a plan for the work and continuously seek ways to improve upon that plan and increase efficiency until the project is complete.

Cianbro unveils a new workforce development center for the Cianbro Institute in Pittsfield, Maine.

Cianbro joins an elite group of approved participants in OSHA's Star Mobile Workforce Voluntary Protection Program (VPP).

Cianbro commissions New England's largest solar array with 40,300 panels installed on 57 acres.

Cianbro acquires A/Z Corporation, a Connecticut-based engineering-construction firm providing diverse industry services, including design, construction, maintenance, and energy management, focusing on technology-oriented markets.
2022
Cianbro acquires R. C. Stevens, one of Florida’s oldest and most experienced construction leaders. The company is a full-service design and builder, construction manager, and general contractor specializing in commercial, financial, healthcare and process manufacturing projects.
