The mechanical estimator will be tasked primarily with the preparation of discipline-specific estimates supporting large multi-discipline efforts or smaller independent estimates. This key position will play a significant role providing financial insights and analysis to support HR and IT functions, including compensation, benefits, workforce development, compliance, and cost forecasting. This role will ensure that HR and IT initiatives align with the organization’s overall financial strategy through auditing regulatory requirements and assisting in developing and implementing programs.

Job Responsibilities

• Support the budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and reporting process of the HR and IT departments across the company.
• Provide the cost-benefit analysis on the total benefit and compensation package, including self-insured benefit financials and premium setting, workers compensation reports for both fully insured and self-insured plans, and recommend financial opportunities.
• Monitor regulatory changes, establish, and maintain internal controls to ensure proper and accurate financial compliance.
• Evaluate risk and participate in the negotiation of HR and IT contracts and renewals.
• Track, report, and prepare dashboards on performance against HR and IT budgets and forecasts.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of financial experience, preferably in HR and IT.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel {financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting}.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• 10 plus years of supervisory experience managing multiple crews in a heavy industrial construction environment.
• Must have good organizational abilities and possess strong oral and written communication skills. 
• Experience in construction operating practices is preferred. 
• Strong sense of urgency in the completion of tasks. 
• Ability to work effectively with internal and external customers. 
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and communicate in a timely, effective manner.

• Identify and eliminate all hazards associated with all work tasks.
• Inspect/test, troubleshoot, and repair a wide variety of heavy equipment including but not limited to cranes, dirt equipment, and other miscellaneous heavy construction equipment.
• Read parts schematics to aid in ordering parts/materials.
• Complete a material requisition and follow up on part arrivals.
• Accurately track time and materials spent on repairs to be applied to Work Orders.
